Let’s go Fishing

Fisher’s Resort’s bait house area offers bait, tackle, gas, oil, ice, lake maps, fish cleaning facilities and fishing tales every day.
Two protected marinas offering you a three at a time boat launching with lighted overnight docking available.  The marinas are kept deep enough to insure your larger boat will be able to get to the walleye hot spots.
What is a launch?
A “Launch” is Minnesota speak for a charter boat. We have trips for individuals and also large groups. If you would like to go as an individual you would pay the rate indicated on the rates page. If you would like to keep the boat private for your group exclusively you may “charter” the boat. The launches vary in length up to 55 feet. All bait is furnished.  All launches have bathroom facilities.  Bring your own fishing pole or we will supply one.
Launches depart three times daily… if there is enough demand.

Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages.

You also have the opportunity to fish out of either of our 2 spacious harbors off shore. Children and adults alike enjoy a layed back day of casting for walleye, northern and bass. This is an excellent option if the lake is too rough for your taste on a particular day. We are also connected to many smaller lakes if you are interested in going for panfish and other species.

Fishing “The Big Pond” (AKA… Mille Lacs Lake)

Some people say… “Mille Lacs is huge and intimidating to me, what if it gets windy?”….Mille Lacs can get rough on some days. The good news is, you can get out of the wind in minutes. If it happens to be a heavy east wind for instance, it will be rough on the west side, and it would leave our shores calm. If you wake up to a rough water day, load the boat and trailer to other areas of Mille Lacs or to a smaller panfish lake. You can be on calm waters within minutes. In all actuality, like any other lake, weather is a roll of the dice. It could be dead calm your whole stay too, you just never know!

Another thing to keep in mind is there’s a ton of structure near shore starting right out from our harbor. There is truly no need to go far if you are intimidated by traveling a long ways by boat.  You can start fishing within 1/4 mile from our doorstep. Whether you are a pro fisherman or a rookie, we have you covered.  Like any other lake it is something to learn, and we are here to help you!

Don’t rule out hiring a private guide or going out on a group charter launch to gain knowledge. The best advise for this is to do this at the beginning of your vacation in order to become educated on technique and fishing locations.

Some people prefer to be guided the entire trip and that works too!  We have many area guides that would be happy to take you out of our place.  We have connections with people that guide for all species.
