***Opener Fishing Report***
Could the weather have been any better this weekend? It was great!
We were busy this weekend and were grateful for it! The fishing was good-great. The few that went out overnight, had big numbers to be sure…while trolling cranks.
Early morning on Saturday, the bite continued but then tapered off midday which is typical. It was also very calm so a little chop would have helped. We had a more healthy chop Sunday. Most reports for Sunday were very good.
Most people said they had to fish deeper than they thought they would have to. Minnows out preformed leeches. If you can get your hands on shiners, they were working very well for some.
Colors to try… Red, Purple and Gold.
Rigging, cranks, corks and jigging were all successful. The north sand seemed to be the most productive.
Water temps 50-55.
We did not have many targeting bass so we do not have a report for that species yet.
Thanks to all that patronized us this weekend! It was a success.
We do have a couple cabins open for this weekend if you want to catch this good bite.
This is an excellent year to take a kid walleye fishing and get them hooked!
Drop your fish pics here if you joined us.
Have a great week!
