Summer is in Full Swing!
It finally feels like summer around here the last few weeks! The 4th of July holiday weekend was busy for all of us up here. So thank you!
Fishing Report…..
Fishing has still proven to be great. The walleye bite has slowed a bit since late June, but you can still get on a fantastic bite pretty much on all structure situations. The big females have been reported out on the flats which is typical for this time of year. Nightcrawlers have been out preforming leeches, but leeches have still been good. The basin and transition areas are holding a lot of fish. Deep trolling with leadcore have been reported with success. North sand also has been holding numbers. You will get more of a variety of sizes in that area. Shallow rocks are holding more of the smaller fish which is also typical for this time of the year. Hot colors…pink, red, chrome and orange.
Smallmouth…. We have had some smallmouth fishermen and women here the last few weeks, but not as many in order to give you a detailed report. Try rock structures in the 10-15′ range. Some have been reported to be caught in semi-shallow rock structures also. Crayfish colors are now starting to work. Try pumpkin or green tubes. Crankbaits are reported to be working as well.
Muskie/Pike…. We have not had specific reports on any muskie action as of yet. Many of them are likely deep due to the high population of tullibee. The giant pike are due to kick in at any time. When they do finally turn on, you will know it. We will be posting pictures and keeping you updated.
If you are looking to come up there is still time to book. Check out our online availability calendar to see if there is a time that works for you. We are taking reservations lately for fall, so if you are thinking about coming to see us, now is the time to lock down your cabin! We hope to see you soon!
